Since I have been not entirely committed to writing (you know, writing by hand, the 'old fashioned way') anything as of late, I have given in to blogging. Here's a blog. If you'd like writing, ask for a letter. Who writes letters these days?

I'm sitting on a camping chair...

Yup, that's the way it's been for a long time - as far as our seating arrangements have been for our computers. Yes, camping chairs.

I'm not complaining about it - in fact, I like these chairs. The thing is, this reminds me of the temporariness of our lives thus far (the wife and I). While we've been living in Calgary, it's always been with the feeling that it's only temporary here and we expect to be out of here soon, so why bother doing anything of permanent value? (yup, long sentance)

Yeah, this is a depressing topic to begin the new year, but this has been on my mind since we got back from our short holiday and Christmas festivities in BC (not to mention the colds we had - those were fun). Being everything is so temporary, it's hard to relax and work on good ol' pastimes or "put down roots" as the familiar phrase goes. However, I am glad that we have got ourselves into a small group through our church (we've made some good friends there). What will be really weird is going back to BC after we graduate this April. I hope that temporary feeling will fade quickly after, so we can actually settle down in a home somewhere... (now let's hope the real estate costs will go down a little...)

Anywho, to not end on a depressing note...

I hope you guys settle in alright once all is said and done...after all things change a lot. But I know how excited you guys are to be going back, and surely your families too! I've just learned to accept that things will never be the way I left them, hard thing for me to learn-hope it's easier for you.
