Since I have been not entirely committed to writing (you know, writing by hand, the 'old fashioned way') anything as of late, I have given in to blogging. Here's a blog. If you'd like writing, ask for a letter. Who writes letters these days?

The End is Near!

No, that is not an apocalyptic statement. In my current context, I have finished four out of five exams. The last exam (which will be in two hours) will mark the end of this semester. I am as excited as the guy who lost his wallet and worked endlessly to find it, only to figure out that he has left it in his other pants. In other words, I am excited, relieved, and bewildered.

The excitement and relievedness (that's a word?) require very little explanation; however, the bewilderedness is in want of some kind of discussion.

Plainly put, I am bewildered by how fast my exams are going. Usually I'd be the last one to exit the room, scrambling to write my concluding paragraph on the in-class essay. In direct contrast to that, I was one of the first to leave the exam I just had. One of the FIRST! This could be complementary to my strengthened ability to write clearly and quickly, but I am not that optimistic. The three exams before differed slightly, though with all my English courses the result was strikingly similar: I got out earlier than I expected (my intro to computers class exam was later, but I figure it was because it was a longer exam and contained a number of multiple choice and short answer questions that required deliberation). This strange sequence of events may be easily explained by the fact that I studied my self silly for all the exams; however, this is not true and would not hold up in court. Last night, for example, I was up till 3 am proofreading my wife's 43 page research paper. I had no time to study, and the little I did study for this, most recent, exam, did not help me so much. Another explanation would be that I just wrote randomly (possibly repeated the line: "you will believe that this is an intelligent argument" for effect). Again, this is not true. Maybe I should be more optimistic. Maybe time was halted at several moments when I was deep in thought. Anywho, all that to say, I am bewildered.

Will the last exam go the same way? I hope so. I can't wait to be done (maybe that's the motivation that's driving me to finish early... well, if it is, I hope I wrote well and not randomly).

Well, now that I'm done (YEAH!!!) I'm fairly happy. This last exam went fairly well...
this one was about as fast as the last one too, but in some ways it was shorter.
Anywho, no more thinking about exams for two weeks!
