Since I have been not entirely committed to writing (you know, writing by hand, the 'old fashioned way') anything as of late, I have given in to blogging. Here's a blog. If you'd like writing, ask for a letter. Who writes letters these days?

Ah, Procrastination

Instead of doing research all night, I thought I'd do a blog run.
Then I thought this blog could use a few extras.
So I changed some stuff and added a little animation at the bottom.
Next I'll try to figure out how to get video on here...

Fifteen pages a week . . .

. . . that's what I have to look forward to.

It's not that bad, when I think about it that way, but, most likely, it will not work out exactly as I have planned it. Then again, I'm hoping for the better option.

Anywho, everything else is going good. The car is okay; I had a migrane last night, but that's gone now; Vancouver beat Colorado 3-0; Calgary beat Minnesota 1-0 (I don't usually like Calgary, as you may know, but Minnesota getting beat makes things look a bit better for Vancouver); I'm getting new ideas for writing and art - oh, wait a minute!

That last bit of good news also comes as a bit of bittersweet news to me, since I have nearly 50 pages of work to do (sure it's good stuff I'm working on, stuff I'm interested in, but it's also work and labourous). Yes, I still feel slightly repressed. I'm hoping that this summer will be a creative explosion.

So, that's about it. Now for my regular blog tour . . .

Quoth the Scrivener "I prefer not to"

Anyone ever read Bartleby the Scrivener?
It's a good short story.
Mostly about a guy who just does his job and when he is asked to do anything else, anything else other than copying large volumes of legal writ, he simply answers with "I prefer not to."
Now, that's what I feel like doing.
Not the copying part.
I find that part rather dull.
Maybe I'd enjoy being a copyist if I was copying poetry in some artistic fashion, but laws and legalese don't appeal to me as much.
The point is, I have about 53 pages of work to do. I prefer not to.

Well, I would rather finish it all and enjoy it, but I just can't wait till I'm DONE!

I'd almost feel like saying I prefer not to go to certain classes . . .
but I like all my classes.

Now I'm approaching a two week period (starting this coming Monday) where I have no assignments due. It's like the silence before the storm. It's like looking out from a very large cliff. I know that's pretty dramatic (I tend to lean that way), but this is more than just a crunch time. This is the end of my degree.

Anywho, to end on a better note, I look forward to Spring.
Then I hope to compose many poems that reflect on my experience here.
I've been dabbling with Spenserian verse (the Spenser that wrote The Faerie Queen) I hope to write a sonnet or two using that form . . .
. . . maybe some of you English Literature savvy persons can give me some tips.
So, that's about it from me. Just waisting time waiting for Kristine to finish writing her exam.

Here's some nonsense Limericks!

"Please, Politely buy my Pizza Pie!
Ponder Plenty no more. Please try!"
"No", I said
With a mouth full of bread,
"And stop sPitting in my eye!"

(hmm... yes, I am bored, so I'll write another)

Things weren't working my way
So I got a job out on the highway.
Hid in a ditch,
Stole from the rich,
And all I got was a bumper.

The last limerick did not keep rhyme.
Maybe this one will rhyme this time.
Okay my friend,
Now we near the end.
Nah, I prefer not to.

Loaf Pans!

We're going to be without loaf pans for a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAHH!!!

*shrug*

Did I ever really use those loaf pans? What are they anyways? Oh, the wife just told me.
Okay. No more nacho casserole.
I can live with that.

Anywho, if you've read my wife's blog lately, you'll find out that I've finished all my presentations for this semester. I am happy to be here. Now graduation seems a lot closer - even though I have something like 50 pages of papers left to do, but I have two weeks coming up where there's nothing to do (meaning I have a lot of time to procrastin- I mean work).

Oh yeah, I guess I should do something about that presentation I was going to summarize on here.

Well, here's my answer in picture form (the rest is kind of long and laboursome - besides I'm not sure if you'd want to see the whole video - maybe the first five minutes, but not the whole thing).

Here's a post for March...

I am quite exhausted.

There's been so much schoolwork lately that I've been racing to get done. I feel like a used SOS pad. Or maybe just a damp washcloth. Either way, I'm feeling like Bilbo...

"I'm wanting to see mountains again, mountains Gandalf!
And then find somewhere quiet where I can finish my book."

I'm not sure if that's only from the movie or the movie and the book, but it's a great quote that I've often thought of while I'm in the lonely flatlands that are the praries of Canada (that's a much nicer way of saying - I don't like it here, don't like Calgary, I want to move on!).
Yes, I want to see mountains again and I would like a place to finish my book... or books.
It doesn't have to be somewhere quiet though. I miss family...

...and family is NOT quiet.

I guess it has more to do with the fact that I'm ready to move on. It's soo close to graduation (or at least it feels like it should be).
BUT there's a lot of work ahead. When will it end? This is a testing time. The kind of period where my trust in God is challenged. I hope I can get through this without going too crazy.

Speaking of crazy, I did that "What is English" presentation last thursday. It was a good experience to get that done. Well, I gotta go get coffee. It's going to be a long night.
I'll prepare something a little more in depth concerning my presentation later.
